The 12 Days of Cocktails - #1, the Old Ebenezer

Happy Holidays friends, I've got 12 great drinks to help you all celebrate this holiday season like a champ. They're festive, delicious, and will make you oh so merry - so when you can't take any more of Wham!'s Last Christmas head to your bar for two turtle doves of Santa's Secret Sauce.

Our countdown begins with a new twist on an old classic, that venerable standby the Old Fashioned. As far as mixed drinks go, this one is about as simple as it gets. Bitters, sugar and spirit. Simple, elegant and timeless, but my seasonal riff on this cocktail calls for a tincture combo in lieu of the bitters, and vanilla simple syrup to give a special twist. Enjoy!
